PJCC, opened in 2010, is the oldest climbing club in Japan for junior climbers.
There are about 200 members in the club now, which is divided into 5 classes according to the level, from C class in which children can learn climbing with having fun, to S class to which some Japanese youth national team players belong.
Skilled and warm-hearted, instructors of PJCC have rich experiences for coaching, varied from senior climbers in C class to World Cup players in S class.
Based on the “Climber’s Bible” published in 2016 by PUMP, we will provide solid foundations and specialized training.
PJCC has produced many world-class climbers so far. Why not challenge the unlimited possibilities of your child?
Let’s start from having fun with climbing. Climb and enjoy as much as possible!!
You can learn the basics of forms and moves in the program. We also teach you the rules and manners necessary for climbing.
This class is for children who have learned the basics of climbing in C class and are motivated for further improvement. Along “Climber’s Bible”, you will make progress in a short period at forms, moves and training methods. In the PUMP1 and PUMP2 classes, the ability of lead climbing is requirements for membership (we can provide separate course to learn lead climbing if you ask).
This is the most advanced class among general classes. The class is for children who have mastered the basics and want to go up to the next step. Experienced instructors will help children improve their skills considering the appropriateness of each of them. Climbing ability for V5 bouldering and 5.12s sport route is requirements for this class. Children who want to enter the athlete class in the future are very welcome.
This is the class to train players who can compete in climbing competitions. The target is Japan youth representative players or the children who have ability equivalent to them. Climbing ability for V7-9 boulder and 5.13s sport route is requirements for this class. We aim to foster top-class climbers who can compete in the world.
Test is held twice a year simultaneously at all PUMP gyms, and students are judged based on its result whether to go up to next class or not. In PUMP1, PUMP2 and PUMP OSAKA, test is done on both route climbing and bouldering. In B-PUMP OGIKUBO, B-PUMP TOKYO, B-PUMP YOKOHAMA and Climber’s Academy SHINJUKU, test is done on only bouldering.
